immersion week towards discerning God’s call

While searching for candid commentary about the AADVENT “Taste of Seminary 2008” event, I found a blog by Sarah Reyes Gibbs, who is bringing highlights from this immersion experience to help young adults better discern God’s calling. Here’s a couple of excerpts to give you a taste::
AADVENT in the morning First Day!
I am particpating in a wonderful, awesome and spectacular, plus faithful program designed to encourage young adult Asian Americans in discerning God’s call in their vocation, secular or church. AADVENT stands for Asian American Discipleship for Vocational Empowerment, Nurture and Transformation, a Lilly funded program based at McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago. Every year this program sponsors two events, a weekend event in August and a week-long program called “Taste” of which I am a participant. … The program’s community consists of the participants (young adults from different places), faculty (McCormick and other places), mentors (four including me!) and the staff of the AADVENT program all focused on the Asian American experience. …
Turns out that Sarah Reyes Gibbs is a pastor at Bethel Community Presbyterian Church (San Leandro, CA) and also mother of Bruce Reyes-Chow! Bruce is also a pastor, an avid blogger himself, and he was recently elected as the Moderator of the PC(USA) General Assembly. Congratulations, Bruce!
And, yes, that means two generations of Asian Americans are pastoring and blogging! Do you know of any others?
