With a vision of “Redefining Culture Through Faith and Media,” Korean American Christian Media launched in April 2008 as a division of JSTV (a Korean Christian television station) and has grown to a staff of 40 through an Intern and Volunteer Department.
The mission of KAC Media is outlined as follows:
- to create content that is edgy, relevant, and compelling to the 1.5, 2nd, and 3rd generation of Korean Americans today
- to highlight individuals and groups in the Korean community thru their profiles, businesses, ministries, organizations, and artistry
- to reach out to the churched and unchurched younger generations through Media and a Web-based social networking site
- to build bridges between the 1st and 2nd Korean generations, and to extend the legacy the 1st generation has built up in their generation
- to utilize the global reach our distribution platforms have in order to create resources, networking, inspiration, and to share the creative works and projects we do beyond our own communities
- to fully support those younger Korean Americans passionately pursuing the Arts, the Film Industry and the Media Industry
- to create more awareness of social justice issues within and without our own neighborhoods and to take action to support those causes
